Privacy notice

BizPin is a directory of local businesses in Zambales. Accounts are by invitation only, or follow an approved business claim. This notice explains, in plain words, what we keep about you and why.

If you just browse

You don’t need an account to search or read listings. We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies, and we don’t build profiles of visitors. Our servers keep short-lived technical logs (such as IP addresses and errors) to keep the site running and secure. Map backgrounds are loaded from our file storage on Cloudflare, which sees the request like any web server does.

We count how often words are searched each day, to suggest popular searches. Only the words and the date are kept, never who searched, and the counts are deleted after 90 days. Searches that look like a phone number or email address are not counted. In the same way, we count visits to each business page and taps on its Call and Directions buttons, by day only, for the business’s report.

If you have an account

We keep:

  • your name, username, and email address, to sign you in and to contact you about your account;
  • your password, stored only in a scrambled (hashed) form we can’t read;
  • two-factor sign-in settings and your light/dark preference, if you set them;
  • the places you save, which only you see, and your home town, if you set one, which shows with gems you share;
  • the hidden gems you share and their photos. A gem shows your first name, last initial, and home town. We keep your original photos privately and publish only resized copies without the camera’s location data;
  • a sign-in cookie, which is needed for the site to remember you are signed in;
  • who invited you, and, if you add listings, which ones you added. Only BizPin admins see this; it is never shown publicly.

What we don’t do

We don’t sell or rent your information, show ads, or share it with anyone except the services that run BizPin for us (web hosting and email delivery), and only as needed for that. We would also share it if the law requires us to.

Business listings

Listings show business information meant for the public: names, addresses, phone numbers, hours, and photos. Professionals’ pages show their practice details and licences an admin has checked. If something about you is listed and you want it corrected or removed, tell us.

If you claim or list a business

We keep your name, email address, mobile number, your role at the business, and the permit or registration you upload, to check that you run it. Only BizPin admins see them: we call the business’s listed number, check the document, and record what we decided. If we approve and you have no account yet, we email you an invitation. Business details you add to a listing are public once it is published, and the listing shows your first name and last initial as who runs it. Replies you post to reviews are public.

Messages

When you message a business, we keep the messages so both of you can read them. The business sees your first name and last initial; you see the business’s name. BizPin staff read a message only if one of you reports it, and may remove it. Email alerts say there is a new message but don’t include it.

Your rights

Under the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012, you can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account and the information tied to it. Email hello@example.com and we’ll reply within 15 working days.

Changes

If we change how we use your information, we’ll update this page and the date above, and tell account holders by email when the change matters.
